We took a day off work because we were celebrating 22 years of being together, and even though we couldn’t go and do anything exciting, having a lazy day at home was better than working from home! Over the years we have had a variety of traditions associated with our celebration – for a long time we used to have a day out to Glastonbury and do some Christmas shopping. We’ve had long weekends in Cornwall, during one of which (the 10th anniversary) Ken proposed to me at the Merry Maidens stone circle. Two years ago we had a lovely meal out at one of our favourite vegetarian restaurants, Zeffirellis in Ambleside, Cumbria as we were having a week away with friends in the Lake District. So, yes we do tend to celebrate.
I painted a badger for Ken’s card
This year was much more low key, and we only just about did something from the Lockdown Leaflet, we played Odin’s Ravens – No. 2 (Play a game). A different game to yesterday’s.
True to form Ken won again.
Earlier in the day I had accidentally achieved No. 7 (Birdwatching). When I got up I looked out of the bedroom window and spotted a robin on the birdfeeder – I saw him later in the day outside the kitchen window too. However, as I continued to look out the bedroom window I also spotted what turned out to be a Red Kite. Initially when I glimpsed it I assumed it was just a crow, but as I watched it soar over the garden and surrounding field, and I could see it from a different angle I realised that it was a Kite. It isn’t unusual to see it, although we mostly hear and see buzzards. I just had chance to call to Ken to join me in watching it before it glided away, but no time for photos. I shall have to try and paint one this week.
