I took the day off work so I could get round to working on an academic paper I have due (well, it is due in January). I have been working on this paper for a couple of years now – although truth be told the amount of time I have spent on it is probably only counted in weeks. It is for an edited volume, and the book itself seems to be taking a while to come together. The problem is when you have extended deadlines it is easy not to get round to doing what you need to! This is just the final edit and tweak, making sure the paper aligns with the ethos of the book and sits well with the other contributors. I could have, should have, done it months ago to get it out the way, but my path is paved with many good intentions…

So a day off work to get me focussed, I’ll be doing more tweaks over the weekend, but it is really almost ready to send off.

As for the Lockdown Leaflet, well guess what, once again it was No. 5 (Go for a walk) – yes I’ve even run out of cake now! It was yet again a lovely sunny November day – we’ve have had beautiful weather most of this week. Today was a bit windier than other days – which helped the washing I hung out. We went up to the ‘top’ again in the afternoon, spotting a butterfly on the way. I also noticed a fence post with several interesting holes in that I have been passing for the last 6 months and it has never caught my eye before. Always new things to see!
